Infatuation

The teacher stood up front,
in the class, blabbering jargons.
Instructing us students,
like a herd of goats,
While I sat there indulged,
in time killing doodles.
Browsing day dreams,
and far fetched, lofty thoughts.

Just then from the window,
a herd of clouds flocked in.
Timidly tickling the window panes,
then diffusing all through.

Suddenly the room,
was engulfed in drizzly whiteness.
The board disappeared,
then the teacher, the adjoining desk.

Visual silence, set in,
as I looked around,
at nothing but white nothingness.

But hey, I saw something,
a couple of black orbs.
Still, calm, wet,
2 black orbs, closely set.

I kept looking,
their sight was mesmerizing.
Like a pair of black diamonds they were,
perfectly cut, flawlessly shining.

A few seconds passed,
very long seconds though.
Clouds found their way out,
and about the orbs,
more I came to know.

They turned out to be pupils,
eyeballs, as they say.
Placed in a pair of eyes,
which were placed in face..
The face a pretty girl,
who was but a classmate.

And she was staring at me,
curiously, intensely, seriously.
Staring at me, cause I was staring at her,
ceaselessly, lovingly, foolishly.

Suddenly the silence broke,
into a chorus of laughter.

‘He is lost!!” “Oh ho, in love??”

"Hahahahahaha hahahaha"

Teasing, taunting, questions,
from a few pestering classmates.
I cut my stare,
as I suddenly got aware.
Embarrassed I looked else where,
gulped, gasped, shook my head.
Looked down at my book,
and acted out indulgence,
in my time killing doodles again.

But my lips curved back up soon,
I stole a glance of her again.
My head was overly clouded
with ticklish drizzly bliss.

Now I think it was childish infatuation,
but certainly very wonderfully pleasing fascination.
