My fate was decided,
when he pulled out the pin.
I am to be, or lets say I am,
an embodiment of sin.
Gravity pulls me ceaselessly downwards,
its force, I cannot resist.
And I fall to the earth,
inch by inch, bit by bit.
I tear through air,
as I get closer, more clearly I can see.
And as I see, I am filled with guilt,
for it is as beautiful, as can be.
I see a festival fair,
adorned with people, relishing festivity.
I see a mother buying balloons for her son,
and a father for his kids, creamy confectionery.
I see a young couple, walking hand in hand,
enjoying moments of blissful ecstasy.
I see a group of people, laughing with joy,
2 girls, a kid, a man and woman, probably a family.
Twinkling garlands of light,
decorated shops, musical rides.
All these people lost in happiness,
Unaware, least expecting any tragedy.
And then I hit the ground,
I roll a bit and by a foot I am stopped.
It’s of a kid, who doesn’t know what I am,
and he looks at me curiously.
Any second now, I will burst,
and a thousand splinters will fly off.
Cutting, piercing though peoples’,
arms, legs, eyes, entire bodies.
This fair will soon become,
a slippery, bloody, disgusting place.
Covered with bits of people,
severely injured or disembodied.
Oh, now I come to think,
Who is it, that’s the worst of us?
Is it me the bomb, who was thrown?
Or is it the person who threw me?
The kid picked me up,
we looked at each other.
A second or two hardly passed,
and then happened, what was meant to be.
when he pulled out the pin.
