Blindingly windy, rainy it was,
and I sped on the road,
in my two days old car.
Admiring the soft velvety seats,
I savored the young engine's power.

I savored the young engine's power.
I saw the rain drops soaking the road,
and I sped ahead relishing the weather,
pushing the tires into puddles, potholes.
ahhhh, what fun!! I bratishly enjoyed,
splashing water as I raced ahead.
splashing water as I raced ahead.
but this one, made me turn my head,
as through the window I saw a yellow flash.
I would have driven ahead,
but a look behind made me stop,
A suit draped girl, stood a victim to my fun,
all wet, angry, her umbrella slipped off her hand.

It was blindingly windy, rainy as I said before,
and she scampered after umbrella, blowing away from her,
I looked behind, sitting in the cozy warmth of my car,
I hesitated, I thought, I decided,
I nodded my head and opened the door.

I reached back home,
parked my car in my covered, dry, quiet garage.
I paused inside for a while,
looked at how wet the car was now from inside,
looked at the wet, soiled seat at my side,
what unfair treatment for the velvety seats, I thought,
but I smiled, as I was glad, overly happily glad,
that I turned my head, looked back, and stopped.
